Everything you need to know about ProfitIQ — billing, plans, features, and getting the most out of your profit analytics.
Shopify bills on a 30-day recurring cycle starting from when you subscribe. All charges appear on your Shopify invoice — no separate payment method needed.
Orders above your limit are still tracked — no data is lost. Overage orders are charged at $0.30/order (Basic), $0.20/order (Advanced), or $0.10/order (Ultimate), up to a monthly cap. If you consistently exceed the limit, upgrading is more cost-effective.
All plans include a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start. You get full Ultimate plan access during the trial so you can evaluate every feature before your first charge.
No. You pay only the plan price shown — no setup fees, no feature unlocks, no hidden costs. Overage charges are the only variable cost, and they only apply when you exceed your plan's order limit.
Shopify handles all billing for our app. If you believe you were charged incorrectly, contact our support team and we'll review the situation. Refunds are processed back to your Shopify account.
Yes. Plan changes take effect immediately. Shopify prorates the billing difference for the remaining days in your current cycle — you're never double-charged.
All your data (orders, COGS, custom costs, reports, team members) is preserved. Features above your new plan limit become read-only until you upgrade again — nothing is deleted.
Your subscription ends immediately when cancelled. All data remains intact for 30 days in case you resubscribe. After that, data may be cleared per our data retention policy.
Each fulfilled or unfulfilled order synced to ProfitIQ within a billing cycle counts toward your monthly order limit. Cancelled and test orders do not count.
Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration lets you connect ProfitIQ to AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, and others. Your profit data becomes queryable in natural language — ask things like 'What were my top 5 most profitable products last month?' Available on the Ultimate plan.
Automation Rules let you trigger alerts and actions (Slack messages, emails, webhooks) automatically when profit margins drop below a threshold or other conditions are met. Available on the Ultimate plan.
Attribution Analytics tracks which UTM sources, mediums, and campaigns drive the most profitable orders. Connect your ad spend data to see true ROAS per channel. Available on the Advanced plan and above.
Net Profit = Revenue − Discounts − COGS − Shipping Cost − Transaction Fee − Custom Costs. Each component is configurable: COGS per product variant, flat or weight-based shipping, processor fee percentage + fixed amount, and any monthly overhead costs you spread across orders.
ProfitIQ syncs the last 60 days of orders on initial install. This is a Shopify API scope limitation (read_orders vs read_all_orders). New orders are captured in real time via webhooks from the moment you install.
Yes. Go to Products → COGS and use the CSV import. Download the template, fill in your costs per SKU/variant, and upload. Changes apply to all matching orders immediately after recalculation.
This means no COGS was found for one or more line items in that order. Go to Products → COGS and add cost prices for the relevant variants. Alternatively, set a global COGS default in Settings to cover all unconfigured variants.
ProfitIQ syncs orders that are not cancelled and not archived. Draft orders are also excluded. If you recently installed, the initial sync covers the past 60 days. Orders before that date require a manual backfill — contact support to request one.
Shopify Analytics uses a slightly different accounting for refunds, gift card redemptions, and taxes depending on your region. ProfitIQ uses gross order revenue (pre-refund) by default. Refunded orders are flagged in the Orders tab and can be excluded from profit calculations.
Go to Settings → Team. Enter the email address of the person you'd like to add and select their role (Admin or Analyst). They'll receive an invitation email. The Owner role is limited to the store owner account.
Analysts can view all reports, orders, and dashboards. Admins can additionally edit COGS, configure costs, manage automation rules, and manage other team members. Only Owners can manage billing and uninstall the app.
Go to your Shopify Admin → Apps → ProfitIQ → Delete. This immediately cancels your subscription and stops billing. Per our data retention policy, your data is stored for 30 days in case you reinstall, then permanently deleted.
ProfitIQ is installed per store. Each store has its own subscription, COGS configuration, and profit data. Multi-store dashboards are on our roadmap but not currently available.
Yes. ProfitIQ works with all Shopify plans including Basic, Shopify, Advanced, and Plus. There are no special requirements for Plus stores.
Yes. Enter your supplier cost per variant as COGS. For dropshipping, the shipping cost field in Settings should reflect what your supplier charges you for fulfillment, not the amount your customer pays.
Yes, on the Ultimate plan. Ad spend tracking connects to your ad platforms (Meta, Google) and adds spend as a cost allocated across orders within the campaign period. Available on Ultimate.
ProfitIQ only requests read permissions from Shopify — it cannot write to your store. All data is stored encrypted at rest and in transit. We are GDPR-compliant: customer data is erased within 24h on request, and all data is deleted within 48h of uninstall.
The default initial sync covers the last 60 days. Full historical backfills are available on request — contact support with your store URL and the date range you need.
Yes. The MCP API (available on Ultimate) provides machine-readable JSON access to your profit data. Use it with AI assistants, custom dashboards, or BI tools. See Settings → API for your access token and documentation.
